There is nothing more emblematic of spring for me then fresh flowers and pretty raincoats!

This month I asked my friend Ariane to pick a couple of coveted and loved items. So, here is what miss April picked:

Boots similar to those
A leather glasses case made by her boyfriend
....and also made the wish for a dog to bring home.

I chose to add this sweater
If there were 48hrs in a day, I would totally knit that for her.

ps: I am having a hard time uploading my image without blogger ri-sizing it. For the full size desktop (2500x1400px) please download it from the FB page here. It seems to be re-sized down there as well. I'll try to figure it out before the next month. Sorry about this!

Happy Birthday to my dear old friend Geneviève

No matter the distance, country and continent, I always cherished your friendship. I'm so very lucky to have you near right now!

xx

That dress is from the designer Orla Kiely, a common love we share.
(Geneviève is much more talented then me at rendering fabric and pretty dresses, though!)

Les Loupiots

A friend of mine recently started a new blog, about being a Mom. She shares darling pics of her son Edgar, but also some other cute guest nursery tours, weekend ideas, recipes and fun links. I highly recommend giving it a look if you are a Mommy or Daddy too! I especially enjoyed the really touching text (birth story?) her husband wrote recently. It was extremely moving and made me weep like a baby.

I have worked with Sabrina before, on her save the dates, and it was true bliss to get to work with her again, this time on her blog's visual.

Photos : Flowers from the Wedding

I wanted to have a little post about the flowers, since they were a big deal for me. I love, love, love flowers. Getting to pick them and working with the crazy talented Anaïs from Les Petites Excuses was seriously one of my favorite things about the whole wedding planning process.

She listened to me and made sure I got exactly what I envisioned... while coming up with ideas to replace what was not in season in March (like peonies..or Dusty Miller) and also bringing her own touch and making every thing just so lovely.

I don't know if you remember the palette I had planned for the flowers.. but we managed to be pretty close! My bouquet was all white, off white and blush, since I wanted it to be very similar to my dress. It was mostly ranonculus and double carnations. Those two flowers were a discovery for me, and I fell in love, hard. (so did pretty much all the women at the wedding, I think!) I also had some rosemary, sage and lilac buds for fragrance. It was a real dream...

The flower girls had bright fuchsia, magenta and peach. We went for small roses and hyacinths since those are all fairly inexpensive. We even got some extra baby's breath for people who wanted some in their hair. It was a nice subtle addition. :)

For the restaurant, we went with as-affordable-and-as-simple-as-possible. One big fluff of hydrangea a bunch of baby's breath's per table. We collected some tomato cans for the vases. Super cheap, and maximum rustic look. It came out really pretty, in my opinion ;)

Once again, thanks to Emilie Iggiotti, our amazing photographer. Those pictures are perfection.

Both on the blog this week..

A little early birthday present for my dearest friend Audrey-Frédérique. She is +1 right now, expecting what will most likely be the cutest little rocker ever.

xo

Ps: she will be my bride's maid this sunday.. and yes, we are getting married in like 3 days. Exited, tired, overjoyed and reckless.

Pps: I lazied out and drew her so you could not see her tattooed arm.. I'm bad.

Mercredis Wedding OCD : Accessories & Invitations

Paule T.B.Comment

Well, well... I am sorry but it looks like I might only post on Wednesdays for a couple weeks.. ;) My transformation into full-on Bridezilla has not begun yet, but I'm assuming it's coming soon.

First of all, we sent formal invitations a couple weeks ago, and of course I did not save any for us, or take any pictures. I had two extra of those tiny little illustrations left (which were part of the design - it's printed on shiny origami paper) and it's been taped on my office wall since. (G took one for his office too. Because he such a lovely dude.)

I've also made some progress on the accessories. I got those boots, as an awesome wedding gift, from a dear friend. They are seriously just so perfect. I cannot even stop looking at them. They fit like a glove, which is lucky since I had not tried them on. I say it's fate.

Barwood boot from Madewell

She also sent me this dainty crystal bracelet. It's a little tighter then what I'm used to for bangles. (Note: she is much skinnier, this was meant to happen.) I'm not sure about the pairing with the second bracelet. I bought this one at the flee market over the weekend, hoping it could do for my something old, or something blue. Is it okay to use one object for both??

(This is crazy, it's coming so soon. I'm officially bat shit excited.)

November

Paule T.B.Comment

November always feels like the longest month of the year, to me. It's colder, grey, darker and darker, kind of just a long drag before Christmas time gets here. All the Holiday stuff in the stores are a little obnoxious until the real time for it comes, December-ish. (to me, Christmas is in full swing when we get that weird little panicky voice in our heads like: "GOSH is there really only two weekends left before Christmas!?")

Still, November was good, even though it seemed really long.
I got to hang out at Salon du Livre for this. Babysat my nieces for the first time. Worked on a lot of different things at the same time. Quilted some more. Cut my bangs (myself.) And visited NYC for a weekend with a friend, and her huge bouncy baby.

Apple Picking 12'

Paule T.B.Comment

We went apple picking over the weekend, with our friend Edith and her boyfriend. It is one of my favorite fall-time activities, like ever. It's only the second year I get to do this as an adult, and I definitely intend to never skip a year from now on. We had a good time, even if the weather was not extra-lovely. I'm glad I have those silly photos for memory's sake. (what did we do before Instagram?) The state of unkemptness of my bangs right now.. is killing me. This clever illustration really sums up how I feel when I see those pictures of myself. I'm between stage 6 and 7, in case you had not guessed it. It really is a mystery if I'll have the courage to grow them out for good or not. In the meantime, we have a good 20 pounds of apple to eat... Care to share any recipes?

Septembre was pretty great. I found out two of my close friends (no, make it three) are expecting tiny human beings. My boyfriend became my fiancé. The weather got colder. Apples are here. And work picked up a bit! Cheers to one awesome month. You were kinda spot on this time around!
